Walk the Walk

Yesterday, I was in Huntington Beach for the US Open Surfing contest and was one of the judges for Hurley’s Walk the Walk.

Walk the Walk is an awesome project that challenges high schools around the nation to design and interpret a line of Hurley clothing and produce a fashion show/performance of their creations. The winning school gets 25k donated to their Art and Music programs. The top 5 schools competed yesterday from Grossmont High School (California), Peterborough Collegiate & Vocational School (Ontario, Canada), Toms River East (New Jersey), Kellam (Virginia) and Corona del Mar High School (California).

I didn’t really have any idea what I was in for and I was completely blown away as the first school came out to perform. It was on a big stage that had a long cat walk with a huge crowd watching. There was great music compilations, girls doing flips, guys dancing on graffiti painted trash cans and awesome clothing designs. I had goose bumps and almost felt emotional, for some reason, just seeing the amazing energy and creativity of such talented young people! I definitely do not remember having that kind of confidence or grasp of creating something that major in high school so I was really inspired!

I also met two of the best-looking people there, Vanessa Hudgens and pro surfer Rob Machado.

Much love,
XoxoM

My SUP Line

I’m very excited to announce the launch of my Stand Up Paddle board line with SurfTech, it’s finally here! I wanted to design a board that fit a woman’s body better than current boards available and that was light enough for women to carry on their own.

The boards officially launch late August, then will be available in major retailers nationwide or you can pre-order now on www.surftech.com/marisamiller

Here’s some photos from this morning at Malibu.

Much love,
xoxoMarisa

Happy Father’s Day

My dad is definitely my hero. He taught me to surf, play sports and throw a punch. He loves me unconditionally and is always there to support me.

Big shout out to all the fathers out there!

Here are a few of my favorite photos of my Dad. The first is in Samoa when I was 2 1/2 years old. The another is when my Dad rode his bike to Vegas and back from Santa Cruz.

Much love,
xoxoMarisa

Darth Miller

I just went for a ride with my dad, uncle and cousin. The roads in Nor Cal are incredible. You can ride through country farmland and then check the surf, all within 30 minutes. It’s pretty funny riding along farm roads and having different smells circulate in your helmet. I try and guess what is planted there. Today, there was a lot of strawberry in the air!

Here’s a photo my dad took of me on a break. I swear it’s me ;-)

Much love,
