Foreigner

I went and saw Foreigner play in Hollywood last night. I love hearing some good ’80s rock ;) I saw them in Vegas a couple years ago and Jason Bonham, son of legendary drummer John Bonham, was the drummer. Being a huge Zeppelin fan, it was exciting see him on stage and playing a few licks from his dad’s band.

I’d love to see Journey or Heart someday too. Any ’80s rock fans out there??

XOXO Marisa

The Kentucky Derby

I had such an amazing time this weekend at the Kentucky Derby. Friday night, I attended the Barnstable-Brown Gala and went to the Derby on Saturday. It was cool to go to an event that you had to dress up for. I had fun wearing red lips to the Gala and was a little nervous about wearing a big hat to the Derby- but I actually liked it in the end, because when do you ever have a reason to get so dressed up? I met some amazing people and really loved attending an event that had so much history and couture. I don’t like gambling at all but I decided to give it a go and I actually won on two of the races! I bet on Icebox to win the big race and he came in 2nd- that would have been 3 wins!

I watched the Mayweather/Mosley fight later that night. Floyd is pretty amazing. I think he might be unbeatable. Does anybody think Pacquiao can beat Floyd??

Much love,
xoxo

Project Stand Up

I’m really excited about my new project to be released late 2010! I’ve been working with Randy French, who owns Surftech in Santa Cruz, on my stand up paddle board line. If you aren’t familiar with the sport, it’s where you have a thicker, wider, longer board that can support you standing with your feet parallel to each other. You have one long paddle to get you moving forward. You can surf with SUP boards or just cruise around. I attached some photos so you can see what I’m talking about.

It’s a great way to get out in the ocean even if the waves are flat. Or like my sister, who is scared of waves but loves the ocean, she can be out there just checking out the dolphins and seals.

The boards I’m designing are great for women because a lot of the SUP boards are super heavy and really difficult to carry, so Randy and I worked on making it super light and built for a woman’s body. I’ll keep you posted and show you the prototype soon! Excited for summer!

Much love,
Marisa

Up in the air!

I was honored to hear I received a request to ask if my photo, from the Harley Davidson USO campaign, could be painted on the side of a plane. The pilot is a stunt pilot now, but was P-51 Tank Buster pilot for WWII. What an awesome looking plane!!
