Shoot with Brian Bowen Smith

I had a great time shooting with Brian Bowen Smith a couple weeks ago in LA. I will fill you in later this month on the details but we did some really cool photos and one might be turned into a T-shirt;)

Much love,
xoxoMarisa

2010 ESPY Awards

Last night I got to present the award for ‘Break Through Athlete’ with Chris Bosh at the 2010 ESPYS. It was the first award of the evening, which was great so I could relax afterward;) Seth Meyers was hilarious and I thought his monologue was awesome! I was backstage trying to focus before walking out and I was just laughing the whole time. That was probably the best thing for my nerves;)

It was really moving hearing the story about Coach Ed Thomas and seeing how inspirational his family is. They are a true example of compassion, faith and forgiveness.

Here are a few photos from last night. I ran into my favorite gold medalist again on the red carpet;) It was really hot on the red carpet so I’m really happy I chose a dress that was backless and light! I’m wearing an Alexander Wang dress, YSL shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.

Much love,
xoxoM

MLB All Star Legends & Celebrity game

I was invited to play in the MLB’s Legends and Celebrity softball game on Sunday in Anaheim. I played on the National team and I had a blast meeting some of the former pros like Dave Winfield and Mike Piazza. There were only three other girls playing but I was stoked when I saw that Jenny Finch was on my team! It was nerve-racking playing in a stadium with that many fans watching but I was happy that the three times I was at bat, I connected with the ball. I made it to first base the second time but the whole game ended with my out! Oh well- it was a fun experience;)

Any Giants fans out there??

Much love,
xoxoM

Baseball Practice

I’m playing in the MLB All Star Legends & Celebrity softball game in Anaheim this Sunday and I needed some practice!

Here I am in Santa Cruz getting some batting practice with my friends. The game airs on Monday after the Home Run Derby on ESPN. Wish me luck!

Much love,

xoxoMarisa

4th of July in Vegas
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! I had a great time in Vegas on Saturday. I met fans at the Las Vegas Harley-Davidson dealership and then went to the UFC fight.
.
I want thank everyone who came down and waited in line at the Harley dealership. I always really enjoy meeting fans and appreciate you taking time out of your schedules to come and meet me. I was really surprised how many people were there and from as far as Utah! I was only scheduled to be there an hour, but I was happy to stay later so I could get to everyone.
.
Harley did a bike give away for service members around the military USO campaign I did last November and I was really happy I got to meet the winner in Vegas. He served in Afghanistan and just returned home in the last couple months. I got to meet his beautiful wife and 7-month-old baby boy as well. I continue to be blown away by the sacrifices men and women in the military make, as well as their families, so we can continue to enjoy our every day freedoms.
.
In the picture below is Steve, the winner, and his friend and fellow solider, Keith.
.
I also want to say to anyone who hasn’t watched the Band of Brothers series, you’ve got see it! I know probably every guy has, but women out there should watch this as well! In the past, I did not like watching movies or tv with violence in them and war stories seemed even more difficult. Even though at times it’s hard to watch, this series is incredible and has amazing insight into a huge part of our history. It’s based on a book by Stephen Ambrose and Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are executive producers. I encourage anyone who hasn’t seen it, to watch it. It really opened my eyes and now I have a greater appreciation and respect for what our military did. It really shows the personal aspect of each individual and makes it more real to try and identify with.
.
Much love,
XoxoMarisa
