Born in the coastal city of Santa Cruz, California, and ever the athlete, Marisa was a star volleyball player and surfer in high school. While on vacation in 2001, Marisa was discovered by photographer Mario Testino. Mesmerized by Marisa’s look, Testino took some quick photos of her and after appearing in Vogue USA, the rest is history.

Marisa first appeared in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, securing her position within the modeling industry. As a result, clients such as Victoria’s Secret hired the blond bombshell to endorse their brands. Other companies followed suit, and soon Marisa began appearing in publicity campaigns for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, Victoria’s Secret, Andrew Marc, and most recently True Religion Jeans. Marisa has graced the covers of magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Shape and Ocean Drive. It’s no wonder Sports Illustrated called her back for the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Swimsuit Editions.

In 2007 Marisa shot her first television commercial for Victoria’s Secret with fellow supermodel Heidi Klum and she made her debut strut down the world’s sexiest runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  Since then Marisa has shown no signs of slowing down. By being honored with the coveted cover of the 2008 Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Marisa has secured her place in modeling history. Her whirlwind press tour included David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ellen. Shortly thereafter, Marisa added another great accolade to her career by debuting as number one on Maxim magazines annual ‘Hot 100′ list. She also launched her own collection of Vans in a first time ever collaboration between Vans Inc. and a supermodel. The line that featured three designs was available on a limited-edition run at exclusive boutiques nationally.

In 2008, Marisa spread her wings and officially became a Victoria’s Secret Angel by signing a multi-year contract with the giant retail chain.

Proving her well roundedness as an American supermodel, Marisa has been named the new face of Harley-Davidson and will go down in history books as the first celebrity, and female, to ever appear in a campaign.

Marisa’s appeal doesn’t stop with the magazines. In 2004, Marisa made her television debut as a judge on the reality show “Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model” and has followed that with guest spots on “Entourage”, “How I Met Your Mother” and the VH1 reality show “The Shot” in both the season premiere and the season finale. She can also be seen weekly as part of the NFL’s television campaign.

Not forgetting her athletic roots, Marisa showed off her surfing skills to the world in 2004 when she came in second at the celebrity edition of the Kelly Slater Invitational in Fiji.

Giving back to the community has always been a priority for Marisa.  She is an ambassador for the Young Survival Coalition, working to bring breast cancer awareness to young women. Marisa is also a spokesperson for The Surfrider Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the world’s oceans and beaches. In 2005, she also participated in the Fashion for Relief benefit show in September 2005 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Marisa Miller currently divides her time between Los Angeles and New York.
