I saw some comments on my Facebook page asking about the tsunami reaching Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is one of 4 counties declared a disaster area in California. The Santa Cruz Harbor has a preliminary estimate of $17 million in damages. The U Dock of the upper harbor is totally gone. Fortunately, there are no reported injuries. I’m so happy to hear no one was hurt in Santa Cruz.

It is so sad to see the devastation from the earthquake in Japan. I can’t even imagine being in an 8.9 earthquake! I experienced the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake in Northern California, which was a 7.1 and that was bad. My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Japan. Especially as the next few days will reveal the extent of the aftermath.

I went to the Lincoln Lawyer movie preimere last night in LA. I haven’t been to the movies in a while and was really excited to see this. It was awesome!

I just got back from New Orleans and all of the Mardi Gras festivities. Wow, what a city! I was working with Captain Morgan on the First Mate Fund and we presented a check to the Louisiana SPCA for $25,000. The First Mate Fund is a great initiative that Captain Morgan and I started back in November. We have a fun way for everyone to get involved and help us raise money, it’s called our One Million Poses challenge. For every person who submits a photo of themselves striking the Captain’s stance on The Captain Morgan USA page on Facebook, we will donate one dollar to the First Mate Fund. We are trying to get one million poses this year. That means one million dollars to charity! Throughout the year, we select a different charities to work with. For the month of February and based around the Super Bowl, it was the Grid Iron Greats. During Mardi Gras week we chose to benefit the Louisiana SPCA.

I’m sorry I’ve been away for so long! I’ve been sick the last three weeks- since the Super Bowl! I had a crazy schedule that week. I didn’t get a lot of sleep and with freezing temperatures and the snow, it all caught up to me. I don’t get sick very often and it has been really frustrating not feeling well for this long. I’ve had to reschedule a lot of things and missed the parties on Oscar night, but on the up side, I’ve done extensive taste tests of every cough drop flavor on the market and I’ve had some good quality snuggle time with my puppy!
The Super Bowl was awesome. It was one of the best games I’ve been to. The stadium was incredible and I lost my voice cheering by the second half, which was probably good for the people around me!!

Here is a photo of me traveling home from the Super Bowl. I found a corner in the airport and passed out. The other is of me and my little Lula trying to stay warm.

Off to the airport- back to work!!
