This was one of my favorite SI trips because Jamaica was so beautiful. The sunsets were so vibrant and colorful and the sand was so fine and white, like powdered sugar. I grew up riding horses so I’m pretty comfortable around them, but it’s a totally different story when you can’t use your hands! I told the crew, ‘if the horse starts taking off, please everyone turn around so I can grab the reins!’ Lucky for me, the horse didn’t go far.

Just curious…SI Swimsuit has a lot of “risque” shots in it. Obviously, being in the issue is a HUGE honor and the models who sign up for it know they won’t be wearing much. However, can a model ever say to the client (or director or whoever) that they don’t want to do a certain picture if it makes them uncomfortable?
Yes, I definitely have a say in what I’m comfortable doing. Nobody would ever make you do something your uncomfortable with. Everyone is very sensitive to how exposed you sometimes are and do everything to make you feel at ease.

Hi Marisa! I am a aspiring supermodel. I have modeled in the past. And have been working out like crazy to get back to the perfect swim suit body i used to have. My dream is Victorias Secret and Sports Illustrated. I am sure there are millions and millions of girls out there that want to be a supermodel also. But I have known since I was about 13 and picked up one of the Victorias Secret magazines lying around my moms house. Ever since then i can’t stop thinking about being a lingerie model and swim suit model. Do you have any advice on how to get started? I know it is like 1 in a million chance to be a model for Victorias Secret but I am so driven and eager to be one. And i really will do whatever it takes to become one. Please, if you have any advice i would love to hear what you have to say.
And by the way you are so very beautiful! And you look so healthy! You are a very big inspiration to me!

I agree with Brock…Anton is disrespectful and needs to take a hike. His comments through out this blog are bordering scary and creepy. I’m sure you run into stuff like that all the time but please be careful. I have been on the receiving end of unwanted attention to the point of stalking before and it’s very scary.
