Oscar Parties

I remember my first year getting invited to the Oscar parties was in 2003. I was pretty new to the business so I hadn’t been to many events. I was nervous about going to something of this size and scale and not knowing what to expect. I had never worn a gown or anything that dressy before (Prom doesn’t count). The first year, I didn’t even do the press line because I was too nervous. A woman, who was running the red carpet at the Vanity Fair party, asked if I’d step on the carpet for a few photos. I looked up at the red carpet and there was Oprah getting her picture taken. There was no way I was going to get my photo taken after Oprah, haha!! So I hurried inside. The party ended up being really fun and I felt right at home when I saw In-N-Out Burger was being served! It was hilarious seeing all the girls in gowns and eating burgers.

It can always be a little stressful trying to find something to wear to events, but this year, I ended up wearing the first dress I tried on. I wanted to wear something long because there are only so many places you can wear something this dressy, so I wanted to really go for it. This Johanna Johnson dress was amazing. All hand beaded and really heavy. I loved the dramatic neckline, the back and the long train. Walking in a train is always tricky because you have to make sure you aren’t getting stepped on all night, but it’s also a funny way of meeting people by asking them to get off your dress!

Hope you enjoy some of the photo’s from my camera.

Much love,

Call of Duty XP

I had a great time attending the first-ever Call of Duty XP event in LA. There were over 6,000 people in attendance and lines a mile long to play Modern Warfare 3 before it officially released. There were a lot of interactive setups as well, including paint ball, zip-lining and the Jeep experience.

At the end of the Jeep experience, you “secure” a building. It was intense! After being driven through a crazy dirt course, you are rushed out of the Jeep by Navy SEALs while “bad guys” are shooting at you. They are blanks (obviously) but it’s still loud and scary. Then you are given directions by a Navy SEAL to follow him and about 7 others into a dark building. It’s like a super crazy haunted house, at least for me. Bad guys are shooting at you out of every dark corner. I didn’t help much to secure anything, I just grabbed on to one of the SEALs’ vest and screamed the whole time, while they took out the bad guys. It was so loud I couldn’t hear myself scream. Which I guess made it less embarrassing that no one else could hear me either.

The best part about the whole event was around 500 active service members were there. Call of Duty has an endowment for the military. 100% of ticket sales went to the Call of Duty Endowment to help service members integrate back into civilian life after being overseas.

Here’s some photos from the event as well as a video with Nick Swardson!

Much love,

Here is a photo of the actual Dark Horse comic book R.I.P.D.

I’m so excited to be working with such an amazing cast and crew for my first film.
